This week really has been crazy. The begining of the week was rather slow. But we recieved a miracle or two.
First the miracles then the adventures.
We have been teaching a less-active member of the church named Sisiter Smith. She has a strong testimony and has been sharing the message of the Restored gospel to her friends. Recently we were teaching her and her husband and she had invited over a friend of hers named Tony. Tony has visited with us a couple of times. We taught about the Restoration and how we believe God speaks to prophets on this earth today. Tony was interested and asked a lot of great questions. We then talked about Priesthood authority and how important it was. At the end of the lesson we asked them all "What would it mean if this message were true". Tony responded and said " I would like to get baptized again, can I be baptized again?" We responded "Yes Tony" We will proceed to teach him more about the church and we have great hopes for him. We then turned to Mr. Smith and then asked him the same question. He replied " I already know its true". The spirit was felt and they agreed to come to church this upcoming Sunday. This all happened on Saturday night.
The next miracle happened yesterday as Elder Grajeda and I were knocking on doors. The previous day we had been praying which street we should visit. We wrote down five streets and went out and knocked on the doors. We had completed all streets except 1. Yesterday we tried the last street. Every house wasn't interested. We knocked on 23 doors we tried the 24th door. A wonderful black lady let us in. We introduced ourselves and she introduced herself. We eventually found out that she is the journalist who writes about religion for the Roanoke Times!! She was amazed with missionaries and by the end of a half hour, she wanted to do an article on us for the newspaper!! Holy MIRACLE!!! She wants to set up an appointment this week. We are excited.
Now for the cool part. Elder Grajeda and I just hiked a trial in the Appalachian Mountains called Dragons Tooth. We went with the whole district. It was the TOUGHEST hike i have ever been on. We eventually reached the top and the view was amazing. I took some pictures to share.
I hope all is well and that you are healthy and safe. It's great to be a Mormon.
Sincerely,
Elder Eric Kochenderfer
