I am sorry once again for a short email, but here it goes:
I am now serving in Ibate a small city near a medium size city called sao carlos, it reminds me of Botetort and Roanoke. They are about the same size. My companion is Elder Carvalho, he is Brazilian and speaks really fast, some days I don't understand what he is saying, but most days I don't understand what people are saying.
The language is now coming along, before people were just saying sounds, now i recognize those sounds as words, I feel my next step is finding out the equation to what those words mean. I can speak well enough now that I don't have to say "do you understand" every time I say a sentence.
This is humbling when your language is taken away from you, not many people know what it is like, I remember I could talk with anyone but now I have to work on a the same talent just differently.
Thank you so much for the emails they brighten my day. Please continue to send them.
I hope your day is great and that you are doing well, and please if you see missionaries today, tell them thanks ;)
I feel I am progressing, its just that darn patience thing I have to keep on dealing with, I just trust in Gods timing rather than mine.
Sincerely,
Elder Kochenderfer
