We also got a new companion named Elder Mortensen, He is from Arizona and will be serving with us for a time. We are excited to work with him.
One interesting thing that's unique up here in Kentucky is everyone's accent's. Even though we're more "North" than Virginia, their voices have a very heavy southern drawl. At times it's tough to understand them. One more thing, it has always been joked that everyone in Kentucky is related, I am here to verify that this is true. There are about 7-8 last names that pop up everywhere. They are all related somewhere. Our congregation is great, we meet new people every day and make new friends. Life is going great here in Kentucky.
Eventually, Elder Kelly, Mortensen, and I will be going to the local Kentucky Fried Chicken, how many people can say " I had Kentucky fried chicken in Kentucky" not many but we will ;)
It's great to be a Kentuckian.
Sincerely,
Elder Kochenderfer
